Delaware Township and Sergeantsville
Historic Charm and Convenience
in Hunterdon County, New Jersey

What do you think about a town where the local radio station, WDVR-FM, specializes in Blue Grass music and holds weekly barn dances. Or where directions to anywhere usually start from the blinking light and general store at the main crossroads. 

Doesn't sound like New Jersey does it?  Well guess what.  Located directly on the Delaware River and aptly named,
Delaware Township has been able to retain its rural character
despite its convenient location between New York and
Philadelphia.  

Originally born out of estates and farms, this Delaware Township
has sprouted some development but, for the most part, is much the same as it was 200 years ago.  Newer homes are available but are not generally in developments and are often located far back from the roads. Often highly prized are the stone and frame homes in the villages and along the quiet country back roads.

Most activity centers around Sergeantsville and Rosemont two charming villages connected by the road with the only original covered bridge left in New Jersey.  In Sergeantsville, you will often find cyclists fueling up at the general store by the aforementioned blinking light.  

Community spirit abounds during the annual "Thanksgiving 
in the Country" celebration for charity complete with house tours and hay rides.  

Oh, and if you really want to fit in here: use the correct pronunciation of Sergeantsville, which is 'surge ents ville'' NOT 'sarge ents ville'!
