Centered around a quaint Main Street
bustling with shops,
restaurants, and services, Chatham Borough is a small
leafy suburban town with direct train service to New York City.
Most homes in town were build prior to the mid 20th century,
many dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. "Chatham"
which translates as "village of small cottages" does offer
quite a few smaller homes, although many have been updated
for modern living. Chatham also has its grander side, with
larger mansion-like properties, especially in its southern
section.
Chatham Township, which borders the Borough
on the south
and west, continues Chatham Borough's historic neighborhoods
and includes many more development and custom homes.
Homes in the Township tend to be larger and offer larger lots.
The Chathams are linked together by a
common history (they
used to be the same town) and its often hard to tell where one
ends and the other begins.
