When most people who know it think of Bedminster, the
Hills housing development comes to mind. The Hills is a planned
community of more than 4000 condos, townhouses, and single family homes
supported by the village of Pluckemin and located right at the Routes 287
and 78 intersection. Bedminster, however, is much
more than just the Hills.
Because of its relatively flat terrain and
rolling hills, Bedminster
is traditional horse country. Many horse estates
and riding trails still exist throughout the township maintaining a
country atmosphere.
Bedminster is served by a few small
villages. Pluckemin and Bedminster villages, with their grocery
stores, restaurants and shops, and Pottersville and Lamington, which
are tiny hamlets.
The country roads that connect these
villages are stunning
and worth a drive any time of the year.
