Its hard to believe that before the 1980s few people, commuting to New York and Northern New Jersey, would have considered purchasing a home in Hunterdon County. It was considered just too far from New York and the housing options were limited.  Well, how times have changed. 

Hunterdon is now a very popular place to live.  Many of its villages have been restored and upgraded to facilitate today's lifestyle.  Developments have sprung up, providing some great opportunities to move into the area -- mini estates, cul-de-sac homes, townhouses, and condos.  Cultural and recreational opportunities abound and shopping and other services are growing throughout the county. 

And the stigma of living too far from everything appears to have vanished--its almost as though people cannot move into the county fast enough. Many businesses have relocated or opened satellite offices in neighboring Somerset and Morris Counties and Hunterdon boasts express bus service to New York, helping to fuel this trend.

Hunterdon includes a wonderful collection of country and river towns including Clinton, Flemington, Lambertville, Stockton, Frenchtown, Oldwick and Milford.  All of which are suitable for browsing and strolling.  The rest of the county still sports a rural feel but with the conveniences of a suburban setting.  Hunterdon
is home to the Hunterdon Medical Center and the Hunterdon
County Democrat.
